The research entitled: "Model of an artificial neural network for the improvement of inventory management in commercial enterprises in the district of Tarapoto"; has identified certain limitations in the volume of sales that have managed to achieve as well as the lack of implementation and conditioning of the establishments, and the high level of informality. In this contect, the overall objective stated was: To propose a model of an artificial neural network to improve inventory management in commercial enterprises in the district of Tarapoto. At the same time, the research presents a descriptive-propositional type, where a questionnaire was applied to 72 merchants of the district of Tarapoto. As a final result, for the multilayer feed-forward artificial neural network model to work efficiently, it is necessary to analyze from the first instance the behavior of the dimensions with respect to the inventory management variable and thus clearly define how the model affects the commercial enterprises of the district of Tarapoto. It was also concluded that each of the dimensions of the inventory management variable is at a regular level.
