Abstract

“Índice de competitividad regional y su relación con el PBI de la región San Martin, 2015-2018”

Se presentó como objetivo general determinar la relación entre el índice de competitividad y el PBI de la región San Martin, 2015-2018. Asimismo, respecto a la metodología fue aplicado, relacional, no experimental e igualmente longitudinal. Se administraron guías de análisis documental considerando los datos históricos del índice de competitividad y el PBI de la región durante el periodo 2015-2018. Los resultados principales fueron que, no existe una relación significativa entre las variables índice de competitividad y Producto Bruto Interno (PBI) de la región San Martín, dado que, el valor de la significancia bilateral resultó superior a 0.05 (0.416). Este resultado se debió a que, el índice de competitividad no creció de manera sostenida durante el periodo 2015-2018, registrando una caída en su valor en el año 2016, en tanto que, el PBI sí creció sostenidamente durante el mismo horizonte temporal. Se concluyó que, si bien la región San Martín ha presentado una mejora en su índice de competitividad, aún presenta desafíos en la generación de entornos favorables a las empresas e instituciones, debido a ello no habría consolidado su base competitiva, por lo que, no se estaría favoreciendo significativamente a generación de actividades económicas en la región.

Regional competitiveness index and its relationship with the GDP of the San Martin region, 2015-2018”

The general objective was to determine the relationship between the competitiveness index and the GDP of the San Martin region, 2015-2018. The methodology was applied, relational, non-experimental and longitudinal. Documentary analysis guides were administered considering the historical data of the competitiveness index and GDP of the region during the period 2015-2018. The main results were that, there is no significant relationship between the variables competitiveness index and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the San Martin region, given that, the bilateral significance value resulted higher than 0.05 (0.416). This result was due to the fact that the competitiveness index did not grow steadily during the 2015-2018 period, registering a drop in its value in 2016, while the GDP did grow steadily during the same time horizon. It was concluded that, although the San Martin region has shown an improvement in its competitiveness index, it still presents challenges in the generation of favorable environments for companies and institutions, which is why the competitive base has not been consolidated and, therefore, it would not be significantly favoring the generation of economic activities in the region.
