180 tilapias (Oreochromis nilotucis) were collected in the juvenile stage, from 06 fish pools of the district of the Banda de Shilcayo, Province and Region of San Martín. The specimens had an average weight of 37.40 grams and a length of 9.56 cm. The objective of the present work was to evaluate the presence of parasites present externally, in intestines and gillsin the juvenile stage. An external examination was performed on each tilapia when it was alive, looking for alterations in color, frayed fins, ectoparasites and abnormalities visible to the naked eye, and then performing the necropsy. Samples were taken from the outside of the animal, gills and intestines. The samples were observed under the microscope for the search of parasites; when these were found, they were photographed for taxonomic determination. An incidence of 76% of the monogeneans was found, an abundance of 3.27 monogeneans / fish, an average intensity of 4.28 monogeneans / infected fish, a dispersion index of 0.75. The most abundant and most prevalent species of the 590 parasites collected and fixed in semi-permanent sheets, were monogenetic belong to the Cichlidogyrus ssp family. The registered number of monogeneans in the four branchial arches was heterogeneous; nevertheless, it is observed that in arch number 2 (right and left) and 4 (right and left) there is the greatest number of parasites, representing more than 55% (325) of the total of registered monogeneans. In relation to the number of monogeneans with weight and length, it shows a positive correlation, demonstratingthat there is no relationship between these variables. It is concluded that the parasite with more presence is the monogenean of the family Cichlidogyrus ssp. and also does not interfere with the normal growth of this species.
